The Purbeck School is a fully comprehensive school serving the whole of the Isle of Purbeck including the towns of Wareham and Swanage We welcome some students from the Poole area too. The school provides a relevant and broad curriculum to meet your child’s developing interests and ambitions all delivered by specialist teachers in specialist classrooms. You will find information about our curriculum on this site. We believe also that education for life is about much more than the academic content of courses, and The Purbeck School offers a wide range of enriching opportunities to prepare its students for their futures. There are opportunities to get involved in sport, in drama, in debating, in Duke of Edinburgh, in looking after our environment as a member of the Eco team and in raising money for charity to name but a few. Sport is particularly strong at our school and our facilities are superb – we have both a swimming pool and an all-weather pitch.
In 2013 the school will become a full 11-18 secondary school. Lots of planning is currently going ahead too, in eager preparation for the arrival of Year 7 and 8 next year. There is a very full rebuilding programme underway at the moment that you can find out more about how the new school will look on this website.
Aim high, aspire, be successful.
