The students and their parents conducted a number of different chemical reactions, witnessing colour changes and exothermic reactions. Lots of students left with a glittery PVA bouncy ball that they had made too. Our Science teachers took the chemical reactions one step further and demonstrated hydrogen rockets and set methanol alight in the explosive whoosh bottle experiment.
Students were excited to have the opportunity to do hands on chemical practicals in our specialist laboratories. Parents described it as an excellent opportunity to ease the transition to secondary school and one student asked if he could start with us next week!
