On Wednesday 24th of January, over one hundred year five and six students from many of our partner primary schools visited The Purbeck School for an afternoon Purbeck experience in English. The students enjoyed finding out a bit more about one of the books they will read when joining The Purbeck School: ‘Animal Farm’ by George Orwell.
Using mini white boards, students started the session by impressing The Purbeck School English teachers with their excellent knowledge of language devices. Then, students took part in two activities where they found out about the character Napoleon and then had a go at describing him themselves using a range of writing techniques.
We were all thoroughly impressed with the students’ engagement and enthusiasm in every task. Their writing was of a very high quality and we look forward to working with all of these talented students again in the near future.
Year five and six students are again warmly invited to join us for our next experience, in Mathematics, on 28th of February.
