Swanage St Mark’s CE VA Primary School

St. Mark’s CE VA Primary School is on the outskirts of Swanage, an attractive resort on the Dorset World Heritage coast, an area renowned for its natural beauty and interest.

The school, founded in 1855, was completely remodelled in 1961, when a hall and two classrooms were added, giving five classrooms, which are light, spacious and well equipped. A new resource room was added in 2002 to provide additional teaching space and a library. In 2011, this area was changed to enable us to have easy access to the Foundation Stage Outdoor teaching area and a disability room fitted. The school has a heated learner’s swimming pool and a small playing field with an adventure playground. There is an onsite pre-school.

In September 2013, our project team will begin work on a new school which will be situated on the current Swanage Middle School Site. We will move into our new premises in September 2014.

We have a strong Christian ethos and work closely with our Parish community of St. Mark’s. We are committed to “Opening Doors for the Journey of Life” and to the values of ‘Love’, ‘Inspire’, ‘Trust’ and ‘Respect’.
